OUR
HISTORY
Blue Cactus was opened in the former Szeherezada restaurant location on ul. Zajaczkowska 11 along Morski Oko park.
The original talented chef, Majed Zawahreh, was able to create amazing flavors with access to few spices available at the time. Professional restaurateur Wieslawa Szczep was responsible for
the front of the house creating quite possibly the greatest lineage
of future servers, bartenders, general managers and business
in Poland’s restaurant industry.
PLACE
WITH HISTORY
Blue Cactus is not only about colorful interiors and delicious food filled with live music. It is primarily a place
where memories are created.
We remember our about the past and treasure the memories created within our interiors; that's why we incorporated the original chairs, tables, lamps into the new restaurant interiors.
You may also spot a few of the original paintings by our
long-time friend and artist, Darek Pala.
We wonder how many old details you can find?
The beginning of Blue Cactus
October 1996: Blue Cactus opens its doors to its guests in the premises at ul. Zajączkowska 11.
Opening of the Iguana Lounge
The owners were victims of their own success. Companies often requested to close down the entire restaurant for private parties. Therefore, in 1999, the Iguana Lounge was opened next to Blue Cactus to create a private party venue. Part bar, part nightclub, and a bit of dining, Iguana hosted endless parties, dances, and a series of Latino concerts.
Pause
Blue Cactus serves its last meal in Mokotów.
New Chapter
The great return of Blue Cactus! The restaurant welcomes its guests again in premises in Elektrownia Powiśle and Fabryka Norblina.
